well i've finally come to the conclusion i have to sell my beloved 5. been owned by myself since dec 2004, however was taking off the road in may 2005 as i decided on doing an engine upgrade/rebuild (nothing broke just fancied more power. however the car has never made it back onto the road and recently the engine was completed and refitted. money has mainly been spent on the engine however a little bit of work was also done to the suspension.

brief spec of engine includes
steel liners
total seal piston rings
tarabusi pistons
fully l+b bottom end inc matched conrods and a 9 slotted flywheel
piper 285 cam and vernier pulley
2.5" side exit exhaust with 2.5" downpipe, enlarged elbow mated to a t25 turbo
pace charge cooler and pace alloy radiator
full samco's

brief spec of suspension includes
koni adjustables all round
polyurethene bushes inc top mounts
seam welded subframe

the charge cooler to carb pipe is now refitted and the charge cooler itself is being wired up fully as we speak.
things that will need to be done inc new doorcards, MOT and a clean. due to the amount of work and money gone into the engine (mainly looking to get back as much as poss due to the engine being practically brand new) im looking for £3k.

selling non standard ones are is so tough though. Ive sold about 7 in my time and I would say 6 or 7 out of ten blokes who came to look at them were about 27+, knew what they were looking for. any cup mods, dump valves, or bleed valves and theyd walk. standard ones are so desireable, as theyre so rare. I hada mint 3 owner'ed raider. 69'000miles, all pipework standard, running 8/9psi standard boost. I got £3100 for mine, first bloke who came bought it within 15mins of looking. He said he'd have paid £4000 for it. silly money. despite this one not being std, it still looks tidy n seems to be well looked after. More raw fun than my williams thats for sure. i do miss my turd-o. :(

Yea, had my Raider for 2 or 3 years and it sold for the same money I bought it for, only had a stainless exhaust mod. Bloke who bought it was a Renault mechanic and worked on the car, so he knew I looked after it.

need a quick sale though hence the price being slightly lowered. off to iraq in just over 3 weeks and don't fancy it being left doing bugger all for 7 and a half months...

Loved mine sooo much...I went down to Chessington to by mine (500mile round trip) and it had 215,000 miles on it! I must have been mad but it was a 40+ guy who had driven it on the motorway for 10 years so I went with my gut.

Totally std and original which as you say is a good thing..best was I only paid £1800 (was about 5 years ago though) for it as he needed to get shut.

i sold mine last week and only got 1500 when there modified there worth pennys its sad realy as there such fun cars when they been played with
