I'm considering in the near future to fitting an aftermarket exhaust on a Valver.

Whats the noisest one around without a performance decrease??

Do you want noisest, or best sounding? I hear many people like the one I have (Magnex). Not sure what it is like for performance however.

I haven't heard my car on full chat from outside the car but on idle it has a nice burble and is pretty loud. Motorway speeds are ok as well, nothing you'd get tired of as such unlike my previous jap car exhaust.

I think the magnex is a good compromise of volume and nice sound. It shouldn't pee your neighbours off unlike some aftermarket tin cans either. (That may be different with a decat however).

I think you might be right - I heard Andy16v's (?) magnex with decat disappear up the road from the petrol station - it was quite loud lol

ive got a magnex on my williams (cat still fitted) and its allot louder than standard. nice note to it tho

There is a guy in our street with a very nice suburu and aftermarket exhaust. (It isn't chav spec at all as older guy and into track racing).

The comments from my neighbours are that my magnex (with cat) is louder than his car. I live in a little village so don't try to pee anyone off with loud noises. They just say it sounds louder. I know that's not exactly a definative review but just to gauge it for you :)

i would say magnex mate - they are very well made. Im sure there are some cheap asnew ones out there.

If not people rate powerflow ones quiet highly.

A little mate - but the flames come more from remaps. It pops a bit when u lightly press the pedal

I think Mongoose are louder than magnex by a fair margin... 8)

especially if they have a de-cat fitted. Mine has a mongoose and i love the sound, bordering on the 'too loud' with the decat, but gives a great burble and pop when pushing it thanks to a gunner chip ;o)

common problem with mongoose exhaust's are the fitment, some fit great, others need some adjustment and fiddling. but ive heard similar from most exhausts.

well i have a mongoose sat in my garage, it sounded fantastic!
however it was way to loud and so i now have a scorpion, which is much quieter!

Or there is the Devil, that sounds nice ARJ has one and it was 98 DB at Oulton the other week, and that was not even close to how loud the mongoose was before i took it off :S

Would say the Devil is the best sounding exhaust i have heard on a clio, but that could be due to all the mods on ARJ's williams too.

haha yeah 2live's exhaust is mental, may have something to do with the fast as a biatch engine in it, the sparse interior and the fact the exhaust comes out underneath your seat!??! haha

having been in 2live's, mine sounded fairly sedate in comparison! haha

love the mongoose, had one on my evo which had a couple of fitment issues, but once sorted it sounded the complete nuts! although historically i have been a scorpion man.

I have a mongoose with decat, undoubted performance increase.

Real nice sound, and they pop real well too.

If you can put up with the rattling & banging then go for it! They dont fit great and as pointed out need a bit of fiddling with too.

I love mine, only tends to be loud if you boot it. Sound v nice on tick over and just tickling the throttle too.

supersprint 8) , thought about getting one , but ive been told they only come in 4 inch pipe which i think is too big.

i agree with 1995clio16v... mongoose, if you get it to fit right it does seem to have the better performance increases over the others.. does sound sexy on tickover :twisted:

My powerflow sounds the tits. its loud but not stupidly loud pops and flames too :D rasps nicely when you nail it lol :D

I've had a few on clios over the years.

Mongoose is the best for performance i've found, too loud me but i put up with it, however it gives off a great sound at idle. It can be a nightmere to hand correctly, you'll become at 1 with the underside of your car...but i think its worth it.

i remember when summys fanimold split at the down pipe sounded like the car was going to suck people in the air intake and chew them up, right beast lol

Unsilenced bb decat, devil striaght through centre section and magnex backbox gave the best power increase on mine.

Was damn loud tho...at 50mph you couldn't heard your passenger, even when shouting sometimes.

ive had magnex's on both my clios, love them, subtle but when you open it up it sounds awesome...

Above 4k on full throttle they sound pretty nice :) Not as good as my janspeed on my 1.4 k-series on full chat how ever hehe. (although that is probably induction roar as well as it has an exposed filter.)

If you have the means, put a sound clip up. Would be interested to hear what it sounds like.

have no idea how to put a sound clip up but i'd say its a good sound, burbles at low revs "up to say 2k" then its not so loud higher up.

if your looking for a tad more noise i'd go for magnex, i'm going to get a new centre section made up soon though with a smaller silencer in it.
