In a word....

NO. :P

If all that work's been done, then it is indeed a stage 2 ported TB - or whatever stage they want to call it.

Whether it's worthwhile can only be told by trying it.

Its such a long way to the actual cylinder head inlet, I fail to see how this actually helps, except maybe to reduce initial turbulence.

remember, a max power induction kit will also give you 10bhp

No way 10 bhp for a max power air filter....... one of my customers reckons his 1.1 106 will keep up with clio 16v's cos the filter has made such a difference 50bhp at least!!

I must buy a K&N and one of these ported throttle bodies, keep up with gallardo's then.....

...Unlike those who pay £200 for an air filter with a bit of hose attached? #-o

"I have a PiperX and CAT replacement. Must be +50bhp cuz it's well loud an' that innit." That sort of thing.

Whether or not that particular item is worthwhile can only be told by testing it, but porting and enlarging throttle bodies IS part of tuning.

Is suppose his big mistake was not covering it in carbon fibre. Then I'm sure everyone would be buying two each?

I agree it is, but normally throttle bodies are A LOT closer to the cylinder head (less tubing).

This will only really help on a standard engine at top end surely. Initial torque will be down.

NO edit button... I did mean to add... simply having a larger hole would help, as the polishing will have very limited effect.

this helps on some motors where the throttle body is a restriction. but if there no restriction at this point then no amount of work will improve the power output.

airfilters decat are restrictive so there are improvements to be made.

difficult to tell with the throttle body but i,d guess its rubbish as it wasn,t done on any works cars that i have seen.
