i was always told turbos are pretty much non servicable....but these guys seem to know alot more than me so it seems viable option. turbo technics in northampton sorted me out with a brand new hybrid t2 garret for my old raider. full warrnaty etc. was a damn good turbo...maybe they can help u out if ur lookin for new?

Bit old, but you can get a GT28R for around £550 over here (try apex performance who deal in 200sx parts).

got the RS from CR turbos mate in the end, £620 cheers tho! 8)

I thought you had got the RS, but thought I'd mention it anyway. That's a good price for a brand new RS btw :) (I really can't imagine you wanting over 350bhp (at the fly) on a lightweight FWD car as it would become extremely difficult to control).

btw... 2 bar is a lot of boost! You must have a very good engine to take that every day. Try looking up Race Logic for traction control if you don't already have one.

I'm guessing you are running 1.5mm - 2mm metal head gasket, forgies.

I fear for your gear box lol.

Matthew

MAXIBOY

i,m also running that. 350bhp is the target i am running forged pistons steel rods standard gasket but wire ringed block and a modified box with gripper lsd.

Scougar

I understand the principle of wire ringing, but not sure how it effects the gasket (or rather, if it helps stop the destruction of the standard gasket).

I would be inclined to play it safe and get a metal head gasket.

btw.. 350 is a good limit for that turbo. You may get more out of it for 'short runs/bursts', but it will quickly degrade as it's out of it's efficiency range. You will want to consider a bigger, laggier turbo if you want more power than that.
