View Full Version : Caught "Speeding"

Apparently I was caught "speeding" last week doing 36 in 30 between 14:35 hours and 15:25.
The road they mentioned does not have any speed camera's down there, so I'm guess this was with a mobile unit or a copper walking down the road.
Either way, If they caught me on a camera wouldn't they have a photo with an exact time?
Any advise on this is greatly appreciated as they want £60 and 3 points.
Ian
If they have no proof they can't do you for it.
Or so i've heard :P
£60 and 3 points is a bit harsh just for doing 6 MPH over it. :x

Ask for the photo if it shows you driving your f***** if not enter as many names as possible within reason on the summons clearly stating that any one of thes people could have been driving and none of them will admit to it

Request the photo evidnece mate, find out what they used to get you.

Technically they don't have to show you evidence until a court summons...

True but who is gonna confess if they dont prove you did it lol.
If they send you a pic and your face aint visable you could get away with it. Someone i know got away with it. He got a photo though and basically went and changed his plates so they had a different logo on them. Then said it wasnt him cuz his plates are different. They had to let him off becuase car cloning is so common these days they couldnt prove it lol.

That website will set ya straight fella, very good site 8)
The worst bit is if you think you have been caught but having to wait 14 days for a NIP to come through. I'm waiting at present for doing 90+ in a on a 40 or 50 stretch of road.
Mobile camera vans are a nightmare.
Good luck.

..but surely if you challenge it and lose you are liable for the court costs?!

Like they care? lol
To the OP, make sure you keep envelopes that the correspondence came in. (Pepipoo has more details!)

Does the 2 week rule stand for Average Speed cameras?
I did about 70 through 2 sets of 50mph average speed cameras without knowing on the way to FCS.
I havent heard anything yet...

I think the two week rule applies to everything, bar actually getting stopped and spoken to - the speaking to is your NIP lol
