to put in your engine (willy), what gains would you expect, and what sort of power should you get

will the bottom end take it?

MAXIBOY

standard bottom end good for around 250/270 bhp. then upgrade the rods around 350bhp. standard crank run at over 400bhp

Interesting thread, i will either be looking to flog the willy or spend about 2k on the engine in a years time and am also interested in what 2k upfront will get you.

I would be hoping for circa 200 bhp tbh. My only concern is all the spending is on the top half of the engine and i would want to ensure the b/e is still going strong before getting out the cheque book as i would imgaine i would plump for headwork and cams.

I also wouldnt want a lumpy idle or any reliability issues as mine has been spot on in the last 10k, is this all possible?

yes mate. idle might be a bit lumpier but not so its affects the car that much.

aye, depends on the cams alot.

I built a 2.0 a year or so ago..that made 193bhp btu was smooth as hell as the cams were timed so that idle was just normal.

I'd get the head ported and polished, cams and a few more bits done at Hill Power for 1.5k. The gains are good and he's a very respectable tuner so the engine would be reliable
