They made a mark 2?

But a mark1 would have been 100 yards up the road, so wouldnt have been hit :D

You have a Williams as well?
well................no not exactly. I dont have gold wheels or fancy gold stickers if thats what your asking.
Those stickers weigh a tonne. Wouldnt wanna slow mine down
At least theres no rust in my coolant adding weight

Id be more concerned by the difference in crank weights on the mark 2's.
Upto 6lbs between cars
Mk2's??? :?
My Hybrid is a Mk1 PH1 :D

Mk2 as in 172 / 182
tbh i think that std for std a 172/182 would be quicker round a track. but we need an independant test....poss ty croes angelsey 29th July. im sure a few 172's are gona be turning up for that.
172/182 handle like boats as standard fella, thats why i had coliovers fitted to the 172. Even the 182 with CUP springs feels unstable

182 with coilovers isnt a 182 though is it?
Just as a Laguna Touring car touring car isnt a Renault Laguna. Its been modified so it loses all semblance to the original artical.

Agree...at Oulton Park the williams there were faster than the 172/182s fact! Well maybe northy was getting stuffed but thats it!

lol@Northy getting stuffed
I dont disbelieve it mate, once i got the coilovers on the 172 it was a completely different story.

lol.wasnt just the gettin stuffed bit.the lapping him while he was in the kitty litter was embarrassing...no williams shudda bin there  lol
but put coilovers on a williams also.........hehe  ........diff outcome again
I miss my old Williams like mad, but I bought another MK2 172. I think thats cos I'm soft and wanted climate control and gadgets  Williams undoubtedly handled better than the MK2 172, but it's not like the 172 doesn't have as many good points as it has rattles (a lot :D )
182/172 will never look as good as the 16v/williams INSIDE AND OUT
also raced my mate 172 in my 16v (not williams) and he only over took me a 125mp and the 172 was chipped
and i thought it was a 1 secound quicker 0-60
any way made me happyer mm and a bit more
whould get a trophy but still do not like inside of them more going the audi s3 way
There different cars I'd like a Mk1 mk2 hybrid realy The Mk1 looks like a classic inside but its not very modern the Mk is plush and fashionable. If I had to choice interiers I'd take the Mk2. The same goes for the exterier the but I'd tae the Mk1 over the Mk2 as I like the styling. Handling wise thats difficult the 182 is very good and realy I'd like the feedback and handling (what little feedback there is) from the Mk1 but the Mk2's potential as a car.
I wish I had mk2 toys (ABS in particular) as even for a race car you only have to slam on and they will module even if you freezeup.
But since you can get a mint WIlliams for say £4k and a Mint 172 for £8k there a big difference in cars. If you go to M and S and Liddle and get a sausage roll you expect them to be different. Its more difficult to make somehting better out of a more expensive product.
The Williams does have a history unlike what any 172/182 will ever have from its rallying and racing days. Then again if I were to crash I'd want to be in a 172 ever time even with my cage in the Williams.
172/1982 need milage before they loosen up you only have to have a quick drive in one with 20 k vs 1k to tell the difference.
mk2 is bland inside end of... also you have to look for the mk2 they do not stand out..
if you had a choice new mk1 or mk2 whitch would it be
also ( off topic ) a new gt turbo
Have aread of evo this month boys its the same one that praised strombas car so well in the top ten of the decade.
Having driven the trophy and chased a gallardo through the tight stuff they now say and i quote
"Forget everything you've read about the 205gti and the mk2 golf and the clio williams.Just go and drive the trophy, thats where the benchmark is"

This isn't going to silence the critics. I personally belive in some respects the Williams is the better car. I have driven both on the track so I'm not going on what I've seen other people drive them. The trophy is a supebr car though and still given the choice of new Williams vs Trophy I'd get the tropy and accept that in some ways its not as good as the Williams. If I were to pick the WIlliams I'd do so knowing what I'd loose aginst the Trophy as a car.
Trophy... oh, red things that were getting smoked all day at Donny..? yeah, nice cars them

My Cup is quicker than my Williams.
Williams is more rewarding to drive though.
Trophys are gay.
