Just thought I would post some pics from yesterday when we went to the Williams F1 HQ near Oxford for the day.

Even the bushes love F1 at Williams HQ

Arrived around 09:00, had breakfast and then went on the guided tour, you dont get to go to any of the workshops etc but I settled for all the old F1 cars instead.

Then we sat in the main conference room and watched the full Silverstone GP, with a quick pre-race chat with Jackie Stewart.

Its a shame that Williams are doing so badly this season but I am sure with their pedigree the slump wont last too long.

Anyway, here are the pics, please do note that the tour had really low lighting, which made shooting hand help pics without flash a real PITA, but I think some came out reasonably well.

I think my favourite shots are of the 2006 F1 car they have in the reception area, but thats mainly due to the lighting.

The car hung up above it is the 1997 vehicle that Jacques Villenueve drove to win the championship that year.

You could also go in a 'simulator', although it was basically just a F1 chassis with a PC inside, but it was pretty good fun, although I think they should have turned the car around and used the big screen for the drivers monitor.

Various F1 cars since Williams GP team was started (I forget the actual years and stats etc)

Overall a nice day out and something different to do, I don’t even really follow F1 but it was an interesting day and learnt quite a bit about Williams, sadly no Williams Clios in the showroom or any real reference to them, just a Laguna.

Hi guys, yeah it was a good day out, it was arranged by my sister who does some PR for their company I think, but I think you can arrange it yourself, but not sure. I will ask her and see how you can book it.

It was around £175 per person, but my sister got a good rate, not sure how much it is normally.

If you like F1 then its worth the day out, there were around 100 people there I think, you get to watch the whole race uninterupted plus comments from the guys at the race track on tactics etc.
