Hi,
1993 ‘L’ Reg Pugeot 205 Style Diesel.
The car has covered 108,000 miles.
5 months tax.
2 months MOT. - (Till Sept 24th)
Ill start of about the cars best points. This car has fantastic fuel economy, on a motorway run you will easily see 60MPG, 120 Miles to £10, and around town will see you around 50MPG, it’s a economic little car.
The car had a thorough service at 107,000 miles, the following was done.
• New Fuel Filter
• New timing belt
• New auxiliary belt
• Oil & Filter Change
• Fuel filter
I have done 2000 miles in the car since I purchased it. It has not faultered in driving in any way, the car will start first time without fail.
The car is completely rust free, there are no corrosion issues.
The car has the 1.8 Diesel NA engine (XUD7), this engine is renowned for its durability, however it will not set the world alight in terms of performance, that is not what this car is about.
The interior of the car is very worn, seats are torn in lost of places, and its generally very tired, however, you don’t buy this car to admire the seats, its here to get you from A to B as cheaply as possible, which it does very well.
Some of the bad points:
There is a clonking noise coming from the footwell when letting off the accelerator, I haven’t a clue what it is, but it doesn’t effect the drive in anyway, youll only here it if you prod the accelerator on and off quickly.
One of the dipped side lights is blown.
There is a problem with the RHS indicator, it flashes quickly only the rear indicator works, side and front don’t. It worked one day when I went round a corner, but seems to have broken again. I suspect a bad earth or blown bulb is at fault, a very cheap fix.
The paintwork on the car is quite bad, as if someone has taken sandpaper to it down the side in sections (god knows why).
One tyre is close to needing repalced, rest are ok for now.
There are various dents, scratches knocks and bumps around the car.
This car is a pure work horse for A to B at cheap cost, the cosmetic side is bad, mechanically the gearbox and engine run fine.
