same as a normal valver then  a removable crossmember will allow you to lean the rad forwards and get access

not at all mate, direct access to it if you remove the front grill. the rad is shifted over so its easy.
Hmm i got a spare f7p, loom and ecu....
(starts looking for a r5 campus)
Does it use the same engine mounts and everything what about driveshafts etc any info would be good
I have an RSI lump in my (campus) 5 at the moment.
What 5 shell is it going into?
In all cases you'll need manual steering kit and custom centre pipe made up (i used a GTT item with a flange welded on) and radiator piping as you can't use a 16v radiator.
If its a petrol 5 you'll need to get R19 vernier cover etc or grind off the clio mounting points otherwise it'll foul the suspension turret. Then you'll need a GTX driver side mount. A diesel would allow you to keep the clio top mount but more work as you'll need tank etc.
If its a campus you'll need to aquire a replacement slam panel as the original one isn't removable (which you'll need to do to get the inlet in) and will need cut out.
Theres a complete guide up on http://www.retro-renault.com/forums/general/ on how to 16v a 5. If you get stuck as the author or Chris H (who did mine) as they'll sort you out, especially with the 5's black plug.
I won't help cos I'm lazy :P

you can use 16V rad with some mods (look at the picture):

y does the pas pump need to be removed? i boght a r5 with a f7p engine, the engine was notp hooked up but it had the pas pump still atached. i only ask because i rebuilt the engine and am about ready to put it back in
i would say yes as the pump is cooled and lubricated by the power steering fluid so may over heat and seize if not using the pump
so i can fit the bracket and just pop the pump out?
or could i use the pump 2 power my charge cooler?

LOL, just take it out and do it properly, it's not designed to pump coolant and will make it flow far to quickly to cool it. Just get the right bracket and the shorter belt
what bracket and belt do u use?
