Well, I'll come back to post on this thread lol.

Few facts for the people that weren't there:

I had Jon's lad in my car

I was only giving it some on the straights

I had to break to not redecorate my front end in Mk1 449 blue tailgate.

TBH on the straights there was little in it... when I was off cam and well out of the power ;)

Nah, seriously difficult to compare, I was off cam and 2nd on the throttle each time as I was following Jon back to his, but was glued to the rear and pretty much ran out of road everytime before a real comparison could be made. Only time I was on cam was having a doo from about 60mph iirc? I was in 2nd for that one as 3rd would be pointless, it's still 20mph off cam, but almost went into the back of him and had to swerve into the middle of the road lol. Before anyone starts to judge it was clear and I could see the road ahead, I'd NEVER endanger Jon's lad!

We'll have to get some proper comparisons, think the only way will be rolling 1st gear starts as the gearings on each car are totally different and impossible to get a run where both of em are on cam. Still, good fun little blast, we'll have to have some video'd runs this weekend if your up for it old man?

Why aint you here anymore jesus?

Jon - yeah you baiting bar-steward... ;) pmsl

I'm gonna need some fuel lines fitting before or after the next run too Jon, I hear 2 live tuning are good at these kind of jobs? ;) (nudge nudge!)

Not stopping around long though lol

Sean - left due to a few recent events I could see getting nasty and out of hand if pushed anymore. I can put up with a hell of a lot, but I draw the line when it concerns people I care about... not gonna go into any detail, but this is the best solution for me personally.

I have to admit i was certainly impressed with the way the throttle bodied beast accelerated during my passenger ride. I felt pinned in to the buckets!

Gunner, we'll have to catch up one weekend soon and me you and Jon can go for a blast over the top roads and get some drive by footage. It does seem very quick does that though, makes me wonder if I should put the 172 on a diet lol

and... I've obviously missed all of what went on, but couldn't really give a toss anymore. There's just no reasoning with some people. C'est la vie

I would have thought 2lives car would have been quicker tbh, similar brake but a few kgs less, but then 2lives car hasnt had a remap yet so will that make much difference?

J o n
31-05-2007, 19:16
yeah should make a huge difference tbh, the map for that engine is probably the same as a base map... so not all that great. i'd guess it's probably only running around 200ish bhp?

big hp
31-05-2007, 19:18
Only 200ish

Awesome, the only way a fair test is quarter mile i reckon, saying thatyou will be at a disadvantage due to the speed of which 2live changes gear (2 or 3 gearboxes again ;))

You had a blast against the white un yet jesus?

J o n
31-05-2007, 19:32
Just a guess really Scott, but I only reckon that because there seemed to be little in it, but there's a 200+kg difference lol (and mine's realistically not 240bhp as it was RR'd at, Andy reckons more around 225bhp-ish).

Not had a do against Martin's yet no, but it's a foregone conclusion, it's too light and almost the same power as mine, so really it should whoop me being 200kg's lighter. I'd have more of a chance when I get some headwork and high comp pistons as tbh it will only really have the rear seats and spare out at most until I get a run about... still, 9k miles so far and I've had it just under a year and it's been spot on :D

looks like iv missed quite a bit of this thread.

as jesus says.the remap and cam timing will iv no doubt, make quite a large diffrence tbh.

at the mo tho, id say it doesnt feel much faster than 0159 when cammed n mapped, but then it doesnt seem to slow down any after it hits 110-120. so who knows.

will be pulling the bodies off soon ready for the trip to spa. may even jus swap engines outta 0159...dunno yet. either way...when 0051s back and bodied after spa, itl be getting the full treatment ;)

oh...btw.its not as stripped out as jon would have you believe...i mean its still a 4 seater that does the school run every morning......;)

J o n
01-06-2007, 12:12
eh? there was 2 bucket seats and a dash lol.

you even removed all the sound deadening... I remember things being referred to as WilliamsClio.co.uk standard engines, which was decat, cat back, filter and remap... so full interior must now mean 2 buckets and 800kg's total weight ;) lol

it's deffo much quicker than 159 when you are sat in the passenger seat too! Totally different power band, you'll have much more low and mid range now I reckon. Should get some speedo vids up Jon

well buckets up front.......but it does have the rear bench in still. lol

i've been a passenger in martins and jons (the jesus), and if i'm bein honest theres not much in it,martins does get thru the gears awfully quick but the jesus's car gathers speed damn fast.

think it would be a close thing :)
