2 really off-topic questions:

1. How do I write out 74.55 Euro in a cheque? I wrote it as "Seventy-four and fifty-five Euros", what's the correct way?

2. How do I correctly address the relationship of my father's brother's son's daughter? Is it "My niece, once-removed on my father side"? Or is she not my niece at all?

Thanks.

your cousins daughter would be your second cousin.

OK. Just odd that his daughter is also my cousin. Second cousin that is. That dovetails with what my mate in Sydney was saying, that is, anyone outside the brother, sister, niece, nephew relations are all called cousins. Just confusing that's all. Thanks.
