hallo mates,
i have a question are the F7P & F7R rods the same? with other words can i use williams rods in my F7P engine?

I thought the rods were the same?? also the same in the nwe 172 etc as well...
yes they are the same...critical dimension wise at least. later ones have a slimmer design to them, but fitment wise they are all the same.

i was looking for forged conrods on ebay and found conrods for the williams and not for F7P.
so if your right i can buy those and it will work without a problem

i presume that its the crank that makes the difference in stroke in that case?
as far as I know ys it is the crank that makes the differince in the stroke
yes the williams/diesel crank has a longer stroke than the 1.8 crank.
Its ONLY a crank which dictates stroke, via the throw on it.
The extra stroke is compensated by a different pin height on the pistons, so as to retain the same deck height from the same block.
ahh right. i learn something new everyday (didnt have a clue either way about what dictated stroke :lol:)
block have the same deck height but are different internally and externally
