View Full Version : Brakes
Am not happy with my brakes set up, dont get me wrong compared to std they are mint, but i expected more!
Running Hi spec 285mm 4 pot kit on the front, with cross drilled discs and green stuff pads
I've heard bad things about all of that tbh, but am not gonna be changing the calipers so i was wondering are grooved discs a better bet and what pads am i best of with?
cheers

Green stuff pads could be where you're going wront?
yeah not fond of them. use ferodo pads. pads are aston martin as standard.
Have they been bled well?
I thought my brakes where good, but got them rebled and improved them much more.

Yeah, maybes try renewing the brake fluid, but I don't like Greenstuff pads either. Try a different type of pad. :)
you already know my view on the greenshite pads!
thinkin ferodo ds2500? still blummin £70 odd from hispec, any idea where else cud get those pads for this application maybe a tad cheaper?
drilled discs also aren't as good as solid.
took my green crap off went for pagid fast rd miles better you can get them form gsf £28 for fronts

Not for the 4 pots you cant!
Am running grooves. I don't think they are any different over solids for fast road driving. And I have also been told by many that green stuff pads are pretty lousy performer but great at keeping the wheels dust-free (maybe that's why they don't work well).
bugger clean wheels, wudnt be much use wrapped round a tree! i wanna stop!
right the greenstuff are gettin just that, stuffed and am gonna try some ferodo's i rekon
green stuff are wourse than abs .. hit brakes light a fag and wait to stop .. i here the hamlet music

Green Stuff are wank! My budget Ferrodos worked much better than the green Stuff pads.
I'm running Mintex Extremes at them moment and they're quality. Heard good things about DS2500 but I think they are better suited for track.
