surly if you make the bores bigger, you will need bigger rings to match?!!
and yeah, if its out, for th sake of a few quid mite as well know its all new etc etc..
yes if its honed properly, you want to fit new rings.
honing just put a fine cross hatching on the bores does not increase size buy a large amount i think. rebore means new pistons and rings
A proper surface finnish is beneficial...and no, its not a mass removal process. you'd maybe hone 2thou gradually to creep up on a final diameter

its alot cheaper than i thought!
Is it cheaper if you take it to them...
worth it for any rebuilt at theat price imo
cheap means cheap.
I pay £120 for a CNC diamond hone and plateu finish on a rottler the size of a truck, cylinder king is the other choice if you have a fancy smancy bore coating.

a local parts company who also do vavle cutting, guide replacements etc have quoted me 22.50+vat.
the engine im building is using a 88mm crank instead of an 86mm so there may be a lip at the top of the bore. if there is a lip is a hone all it needs or doe's it require a rebore?
They can usually hone it out, but check for taper.
I'd be more worries that the piston will have a mill higher deck height at tdc, or are you running shorter rods?

can i re-use main, big ends and bolts?
what shells? depends on hoe they measure up and what condition they are in.
for the price of them, i just replace.
can i re-use main, big ends and bolts?
Stroked crank, new pistons and rods but you wont spend £100 on new shells? :P
