View Full Version : ECU's
Just to clarify...
Will a willy chip fit a valver ECU?
i.e if i were to buy a chip off gunner and slap it in my valver ecu would it run?
cheers
I wanna know this too, ive heard on this forum somewhere it does, but wanna clarify..
Dave
90% sure it would. mine is an early phase 1 valver ecu with a hillpower chip. works great imo.

But is that a valver or willy chip?

yes it would run.....williams ECU would plug straight into a valver loom but why would you do this? Has the ecu been mapped or something? You will get a poo limiter in a valver

I'm pretty sure it's for a 16v running an F7R engine
Basically its going to become a hybrid, both mine and Daves.
So need to either chip the valver ecu or get a Williams ECU. This is the way it works as ive been told.
Sticking a Williams chip in a valver ECU wont go, so ive been told.
So Stew, you might want to check that out mate
i have the reciept from nick @ hillpower right here.
says williams stage 1 chip for 16v ECU
unless somewhere when mine was turned into a hybrid the loom was changed to williams loom as well. but clocks and all are still 16v items.
are the looms not the same?? time to email hillpower me thinks!
Dave
Yeah otherwise i have just made an expensive mistake
