its an old car, you've got to expect a bit of rust, just get a slide hammer and they'll come out easy ;)

i had this problem when doing mine,
take the caps off and spray a bit of wd40 or similar product onto the bars and give it a few days then should come out easy, have you tried this??
^^ as above but use penetrating oil.

Well i tried spraying with wd40 for about 5 minutes before i had a go.
Is there any heavyduty tool i could use as i think a slide hammer for
mine any way is to small for the job ..
Cheers Guys
If you soak it in penetrating oil for a few days, applying every night, it should come free easy enough with the socket method.

Yer tried the socket method and the socket cracked under the strain...
a 30 minute job on these clio's turn into a 3 Day headache

get some double TT penetrating oil tomorrow and fill the caps with it them re-fit....
get under the car and spray where the torsion bar goes into the middle.

Thanks Lee
what i will do is over the next week i'll spray wd40 every day over
the areas needed and may be come down next weekend as this week end im going to a wedding on saturday and a rugby match on sunday.. if this
is ok .. anyway keep yer posted on what happens cheers Darren
Its got to be double TT, or penetrating oil. WD40 is a lubricant rather than a penetrating oil as such.
Lee is a torsion bar master and has a cracking little tool for the job.
Thumbs up, even when some numpty has forgot to spray the bars

Just ordered a king size can
Well glad i haven't had this problem evry other part seemed to be rusted other than the torsion bar :D
get some heat on it!! usually the first time they need to come out they are rather tight :@ but spray penetrating oil on them a couple days before as said, i have a home made tool for just the job, can do it without taking the back wheels off lol
