4th you should keep up, but a well driven one in the VTEC will be quicker than most Williams' and 1*2 Clio's once over 120mph, as they really dont stop pulling. My mates one I would pull a couple of cars to 120ish, but after that he'd pull past and go onto 150+. Few mods it was a different story though, I had just a backbox then, so decat, full stainless and cams was the only other time we had a do and I'd easily beat him at all speeds... well, until it hit the limiter in 5th lol

The EP3s downfall is weight.

Bare in mind the ek9 type r civics from the past were 1.6s. Put the 2.0 k20 engine in a civic of similar weight as a williams and its a different story!

Whats an eg civic?

Those Type R's are a handful for a standard willy - Its the first time since I've had it that the car following was not getting smaller!

I had a do with a civic type R a few months ago. The new but not so new ones now, like 51 reg I think. not sure on civics, its not my area of expertise. lol
Think they are around 200bhp mark.

However, a few months ago I had a do with one, up to 100mph, he couldnt leave me, not sure if I could have gone round him like, esp over 80, up to 60 I was lettin off a little so's not to drive onto his bumper. lol

I never tried to pass him as it was too dangerous, I'm not the kinda girl that likes to take dangerous risks. However, he could not get away from me. I over estimated them and thought they were a lot quicker than they are.

funny enough nyk i had a play with a CTR about 52 reg, up to 120 ish i was very close to it and honestly thought it would of pulled a massive gap on me! but it didnt... was quite suprised tbh

i was in my 16v btw, 25k 1.8 16v just breathing mods

30-80 I was struggling though as I've said in the other topic I was 1 up and had nearly 50 quids worth of food shopping in the boot - infact thats it! bloody beer!

Don't feel as bad now

ek9 is the same shape as the civic jordans so like 3 shapes ago, loads of power for a 1.6 though!

yeah I've got quite a few mods on mine as everyone knows, and run more than standard willy power. As I said I had to let off a bit at times so as not to smash into him. lol

I know what you mean tho, I expected it to pull on me a little but he just couldnt shake the underestimated valver off

My mate has a Jordan and my old Willy 2 pulled away from him fairly convincingly, much to his dismay! lol. Silly fast for a 1.6 though and the v-tec sounds awesome with his induction kit!

split the block and reveal the megane pistons ^^^

type Rs are quick no doubt about it. The engine is quality.

I have had many a do.. i have also had the pleasure of sitting in 2lives passenger seat whilst a type R was driving spiritedly.

what does your valver run down the strip?- richy.

richy
04-04-2007, 19:28
ive never ran it down the 1/4 mile gunner, never done a 1/4mile in any car i own, never been fussed tbh

and as far as im aware its just a std 1.8, def dont have the low down torque of the 2.0

I had a ****ing prick driving in one of these right up my ass today...I got to a roundabout and he was too impatient behind me and decided to go striaght on in the right hand lane and cut me up. :x Shame I was in my shitty 1.8 Astra coursity car...wish I was in the williams.....would have put my foot down to stop him cutting me up! U got to hate these types of drivers....shaw I would have given him a good run for his money in my old hybrid too
