View Full Version : Bigger Battery?
I have put a complete megane engine in my car, including the starter.
is it the same as the williams starter? because when the car has been sitting over night it struggles to start as if the battery is low.
The battery was new when the engine went in which was about 6 months ago and is a clio one. Was the megane battery bigger or could it be something else?
Thanks Ian
starter is the same.
is it charging?? no matter if th battery is new or not, if its low its low.

as Craig says, check the alt is pushing out 14v's
and i would also suspect the engine earth strap. make sure this is good as other wise you will get problems

Where's the engine earth strap?
between the gearbox end case and the chassis leg under the battery mounting tray
Will check when i get a chance then. Think the starter is on its way out tho as it seems to stick at a certain point and not turn over then it will catch, turn over and start.
Popped over on sat stan but you were away. nicee willy outside, who's is that? When are you likely to be in?
thats mine
Im in all of this week. give me a bell if in doubt. you still got my number?
there are two batterys avaliable that will fit in a clio.
the standard size is 065 - if you remove the plastic spacer you can get a 067 in.
065 you say. Think the battery in mine is a 063. Could be the problem then.
Sure its a 065 i need???
Still have your number stan i think. Can only make it at weekends really as i'm working in Bristol at the mo so get home quite late. Pm me or something if your gonna be in on a sat and i'll pop round then. Cheers
