can you not make registering a manual authorisation? so like admin have to authorise the account or similiar to stop these stupid virus spreaders? ?
Or can your webmaster set up validation code image on the registration page, Northy?
Sometime like this:-
http://www.codeproject.com/aspnet/CaptchaImage.asp
http://www.webwizguide.info/asp/sample_scripts/web_wiz_CAPTCHA.asp
i hate them things ^^ but i think they would work
is this defiantly a bot ?

Most likely. The websites are usually set up hours or days before they spam the net. This is what happens when a forum website rates high on Google (ie: williamsclio).
tan - we have a random code generator on the registration page already.
Summeh is working on installing mods to stop them signing in

Wow, and they are still getting through! Can you distort the validation jpeg text even more, just in case the bot is OCRing the text.
not that i can see - unless there is away in the coding ?
Not too sure, it's probably a small application that generates the image, you might be able to tweak the distortion level in the application's settings (or setting file) if you can find which apps it is.
i dont want the hassle and troubles of manual activations - im not online enough to start doing that lol.
