Hi all
My Williams 1 and all my parts will be up for sale soon.....
The real question is what do I get to replace it?
I was thinking of 1 of the following:
Clio Trophy
Integra Type R (DC 2)
Porsche Boxster S
EVO 6 or newer
Clio 197
New Civic Type R
Anyone else got any suggestions or comments?
Thanks and have a great Christmas,
Scally Matt.
Stranger
Never driven any of thoughs cars ...but i would pick the EVO 6
Escort Cosworth?

All different cars at different prices!
I would go for the evo, would have to be a 6 it looks the best imo :D
considering the large numbers you must be inot now, maybe you shoudl consider something a little slower and more laid back for the older gentleman, a nice Jag, or maybe a nice BMW 5 series
mathew wills long time babe hope your ok son

as a previous porsche owner i'd say all the cars on your list have there merits but if you have the chance at a boxster s and dont take it you will regret it later, however be ready for some scary bills!
p.s my search for a suitable williams is still ongoing whats yours like?
Boxster 'S' handle amazing, just slow for the money and it's no 911... that would always be at the back of my mind tbh... Evo or M3 imo

Evo VIII 8)
Honda S2000.
Best bits of Boxster (posing & RWD handling) and DC2(engine & reliability) in one package.
M3 or integra type R DC5 :)
Honda S2000.
Best bits of Boxster (posing & RWD handling) and DC2(engine & reliability) in one package.
But S2000 is a soft top.......

You can get them in hard tops to.
Id say either a S2000 or an Integra
yeah but have you tried finding a hard top one, like rocking horse shit, or they were 6 months ago
Theres quite a few about now when i had a look.
What's a hardtop S2000? Is that the hard roof replacing the fabric? Or did Honda actually make a proper non-convertible S2000, like the Cayman.
Its a hardtop which replaces the fabric, you can get different versions of the hardtop as well.
Looks much better with a hardtop imo.

Something from the VXR range.... as per me in the new year lol.
EVO gets my vote, you can still pick up low milegae examples that are show condition for a good price.

Thanks for all your comments guys....
I'll put up some pics and details of my car and the parts I have for sale.
I've got a set of MK1 Race Susppension as fitted to Northy's red rocket, Kevlar race seats with MK1 brackets and harness and possibly a set of MK1 Clio OZ wheels and tyres plus a few other odds and sods.
PM me for further details or matthew_wills@hotmail.com on MSN messenger.
Speak to you all soon and whatever I get I'd still like to come on your trackdays.

Hello stranger....personally I think I'd go RWD some good suggestions so far..... either S2000, E46 M3 or Elise.

I know its not on your list but if you can afford it go for an exige. :D
If not S2000. :)
A Renault 5 GT turbo (see classifieds) wink wink
I had 3 GTT's...then a Williams...then I went back to a GTT again haha!
Hello mate. Hope you're keeping well :)
ITR over the Trophy definately. One of those must-own-at-one-point cars I reckon...
Of the expensive ones, I'd personally consider an E46 M3 if you're spending that kind of money. And you can get a Porsche 996 for around the £20k mark too. Top motors and would have either over the (still very good) Boxster.
Of the Jap stuff - sod the S2000 option when you can have the much, much sweeter handling (thought obviously older) NSX for the same money 8) . And I'd go for a P1 over an Evo personally, but that's just personal preference. Evos do love to go sideways :D
Of the newer hot hatches, I'd definately wait around for the new CTR. Has the potential to be very, very good indeed
I've been toying with this idea for a few months now since getting a new job and having more funds available to spend on a car.....just can't think of anything to replace the williams with tho (within a realistic budget) so think I'm just gonna invest a lot into into the williams now, maybe even an engine rebuild and throttle bodies next year....
If you seriously want to replace her tho I'd go for an elise or even an exige if funds allow, one of the best drivers cars imo.

Yeah get an NSX and pay a grand every 10k miles for a new clutch! Wicked!
;)
Hehehe!
Go for the elise/exige option. :)

Don't go for the Civic Type R, official clit cars now. Unless your going to Spoon it or something daft 8)

williams 2
Had 1 already and took it to the Ring.
It was a bit slow so I got a real Williams (Williams 1)
MGZS v6 to quote car magazine a polished turb 180bhp scrabble wagon handles well as its a honda, goes well and sounds amazing v6 form £1800 if you look hard.
Legacey - ultimate q car and would tow a willi track car a treat
Forester - its a impreza with lower insurance and a great tow car
Volvo T5 - quite, quite and understated and great tow car
(Iam biased as all cars I have end up towing my track toy about)

DC5 Integra Type R for FWD. If you can afford it and want front wheel drive.

Get a DC2 mate...nothing I've driven compares to them for fun and involvement, and at the moment I've got something with 480bhp/ton :)

Can't edit, but DC5s aren't as much fun. They feel slower, a bit more cumbersome and quite a lot softer.
However, they are a more comfy/quiet car :)
metro gti + vvc engine = 160 bhp for 750 kg total cost £1100
and big smiles. Dan my mates metro race car is 5 sec's slower a lap then full spec brit car integra over a 40 minute race he was only 1 lap down. And saved himself about 30K

Teg or Boxster from that list.
Otherwise consider a 968 if you can afford one.
Teg would be my choice from the list. Elise if you dont mind the minimalist interior. What about a Skyline R32 or R33 GTR? Choose wisely though...fair few dodgy ones about.
E30 M3 is cool too, but left hooker only, still a classy act.
