it has a cat 2 but i had to upgrade to cat 1 to get insured
So how the hell do I prove it lol gotta send of proof...I don't have any security certificate..
you cant mate, you just say it came from the factory like it, there records should surely show it!
records should show factory fitted immobiliser with your insurance company not sure what CAT it is, but on some online insurance companies you can select it from a drop down box, I remember its a code that starts with R, but other than that??!!!?

My mate got a certifiacate from renault a few years back to prove his standard alarm was cat
Renault uk just told me it has no mention of cat 2 on there system merely a alarm system :x
IIRC Cat 1 refers to the Alarm, Cat 2 refers to the immoboliser, or something :)
Why don't you spend the money and get a decent Thatcham Cat 1 Alarm fitted by a professional? You'll get a nice certificate and it will reduce your insurance premium.
Not to mention peace of mind.
Immobilisers are thatcham approved, not alarms.

I've just spent a substantial amount of money on the car lol I don't fancy forking out 300 quid for an alarm!
