Clio 1.8 16v

Very reluctant sale of my valver that I have owned for just over three years.

This car has not been driven hard, I bought it for the styling, though I have enjoyed the speed and acceleration, it has never been thrashed, or been on a track day or quarter miled.

Current mileage is 144K, I should stress that I am older than the average 16V owner and really have taken it easy in this car.

It has full Renault service history up to 90K and I have a huge pile of receipts I have built up since then, I must have spent about 4k in the last 3 years on this car.

I have encountered most of these common problems these cars have and they have all been fixed, no expense spared and nearly always genuine Renault spares were used..

I no longer have the time to go out and drive this car , I also need to get a van for deliveries for my business and this well help to finance that.

The car has been professionally lowered all round by 40mm

This car has NO RUST ON THE REAR ARCHES !

Has a Magnex exhaust from the cat back

Team Dynamics Monza alloys in black with locks with no noticeable kerbing (cost £440)

I have the original Phase 1 wheels with all four centre caps which need a refurb.

Standard radio cassette, I fitted some good speakers in the front cost £90 but can’t remember the name of them.

Factory Leather Seats in excellent condition

Newish engine and gearbox mounts

Clifford Immobiliser and Renault alarm

Michelin Exalto 2 tyres all round with very good tread

K & N filter (cleaned and re oiled regularly)

Genuine Renault floor mats

Silicon Ht leads

Phase 2 rear boot strip (have original phase 1 as well)

White side repeaters ( have originals somewhere)

With regards to maintenance it has had:

Completely rebuilt gearbox, new clutch, new clutch cable and pedal. (£1300.00)
1 year ago by 3d transmissions.

New Renault steering Column 6 months ago

Replaced coolant temperature sensor and isc valve

New rear callipers, discs and pads all round ( all genuine Renault )

Ktec extra strength cambelt and all new pulleys at 127K

Recent Bosch Silver battery, connectors and new alternator

New starter motor and connectors

Both track rod ends replaced, new suspension top mounts and shocks

Anti Roll bar bushes replaced

New numberplates

New rocker cover gasket

New headlights and foglights

Fuel filter

The sunroof motor was replaced just before I got it, so no worries there, the sunroof does not leak.

I have regularly serviced this car including sparks, leads, distributor cap + rotor arm, oil change and injector cleaning.

I have also regularly drained, flushed and bled the water system through, it really has been well looked after.

It has MOT until June 2007 and tax until the end of December, I have the V5 for it.

Bad bits are:

I now live in a narrow street and the offside bumper has a big scratch on it where a ups lorry did not pay attention, also on the nearside there is a scrape just above the arch (must stress again the arches have NO Rust !) been quotes £140 to get this repaired by a good bodyshop.

Nearside v small trolley ding in door (20 pence piece size)

Small dent in bonnet near the badge (barely noticeable) usual bonnet stone chips.

Hand brake is not as strong as it was so I suspect it will need a new cable for its mot in June.

Could do with a new gearknob.

Other than that it is a very good genuine example in excellent condition, in the past I have had people offer me money for this car when I have been out and about.

Photos shown are 6 months old.

1st to see will probably buy, no test pilots please, if you are serious about buying please call 07900 224171 and I will arrange for a meet, am based in Reading, Berkshire.

Would rather this car goes to someone on here but am also putting iton ebay as it is free this weekend, with a starting bid of £1200, offers most welcome.

Also the add says Reading, and as in your name it says exeter, its around the 170 to 180 mile mark.

so your options are m5 m4
or towards sailsbury on the 303 (lovely road) then up the a34 to m4 near chievely.

Nice drive :D used to do a very simialr route when i went to see my mate in exeter :D
