View Full Version : Oh joy, just what I wanted.......... CAMBELT
Sounds like a bearing has gone in either my tensioner or idler.
I have spoken to Gates and they are sending an engineer out to check it over, see if the part failure is down to the part or the fitting.
Not what I need right now
was it overtight ? this can cause bearing failure.

Well, the engineer is seeing my car tomoz at 2pm for a diagnostic, weeeee
those that get the trade mags knwo its never Gates fault, its always the fitting.
tbh i wouldn't have even bother going to the hassle getting them to come out

Lol bass did fit it himself though :P , and he did overtighten it quite alot too.
I fitted it, and it was only slightly overtight
....same tension as mine, and mine is fine

Lol what a fibber, he told me he fitted it and it was way overtight causing a tensioner to seize and snap the belt
