just wondering if there is any upgrade you can get for the 16v as the standard one looks quite small for the size of the engine?

Got a lot of copper the standard ones afaik, isn't that why they corrode etc
Would have thought that a aluminium radiator would be worse than the standard one. If the stnd one is made from copper that is?
Also the stnd one is painted black which imporves its ablity to radiate heat.
copper gunner.....numbnuts!!
Well its £85 for a std one from GSF, or £120 for an ali one from ebay
copper gunner.....numbnuts!!
LOL . I get ya> I did think that Copper would have cost a fortune and weighted loads !!!
no std ones are copper internal, these ones are ali internal.
now copper is a better conducter of heat, and its no-ferrous, so doesnt rust, like ali, not sure of the rest of teh std rads are steel, hance why the ali ones don't rust, i can see why ali rad woudl give better colling as its a better conductor than steel
I bought a copper cored rad for my R5. The fins were copper and the whole thing was painted black. The fins on Clio rads are definitely aly. Or are you refering to the pipes that the water flows through? Are they made from copper in standard Clio rads? Copper's a better conductor than aly so why would you want an aly over copper?
Anyway, the standard Clio rad's huge, If you want to make things cooler You probably just need to flush out your system or get a new rad. You can get low temp thermostats or even some stuff called Water Wetter. Never used any of them though
Got the low temp thermo, water wetter works by lowering the surface tension of water a couple of drops of washing up liquid does the same job according to BenR.
Think i'm gonna stick to the new std one from GSF

BTW my new std Renault ones were black. 8)
fpmsl!
Standard radiators are ali except for the end tanks which are plastic.
Gunners right.
yeah water wetter also leaves white foam if you put too much in lol
i have some in my water cooling on my pc, does the job though, also has inhibeters to stop things growing in side
I'm picking up a std rad from GSF this AM
