View Full Version : Throttle Bodied clio is for sale!

Craig

I would love to keep it, but unfortunately its not practical for me to be running 2 cars, and I dont want to use the clio as my daily drive, so iv decided to sell up.

open to offers. I paid more than its up for, and iv spent a fair bit on it since. Its also running a LOT nicer than before, and iv sorted no end of bits and bobs that needed doing on it.

as it is its pretty much spot on, tax, mot'd and ready for some fun with a new owner!

TB is the next stage for the nana BUT I won't be doing it, something for the next owner to do I reckon.

Slicks will be the next thing for me I think, and just enjoy the fecker...

Yeah....

IMO thats all the nana needs - Slicks!

Is a weapon anyway.

I wanna get some proper slicks as well

...Sorry northy has a CUP car but think Scott just has a normal Cup car....

Scott's should really be the CUP because it's got more engine. Northy's could almost be a cup - not even a capital letter to start it, because it's got non-original harnesses.

^^ isnt nicks time currently the quickest mk1 time full stop.

only 0.2 secs to go! with your track record that should be easy!

Martin
20-10-2006, 08:42
Indeed I believe he still has the mk1 record....plenty of turbo'd mk1s around but none have topped that yet....slicks & a bit of mild stripping should see that beaten.

Since then you've purchased one, if not the quickest Mk 1 clio and i'm thinking of getting mine remapped!!!lol

All the best though mart, give us a ring later and let me know your next plans!

Really interested to see how you're gonna get on Martin. When I ran a 13.4 (in fact, you were there!) there was a lot of weight saving (door cards, mirrors, wipers, seats, carpet etc etc) and near ideal conditions, and i class myself as a half decent 1/4 miler with a bit of experience.

12's with nitrous?! Never. The difference between a 14.1@98 and 13.4@103 is about 3 seconds in terms of 0-100! That's a big gap. To be running 12's this thing will need slicks, LSD, even more weight saving (windows etc) and a healthy power hike.

IMHO of course!

Craig
26-10-2006, 19:38
either way its gonna kick some ass on track! :D

26-10-2006, 19:44
It will be ridiculously fast around a track....i'd put money on it being faster than Adi's turbo due to the way it makes the power.

FincH
26-10-2006, 23:11
In all honesty it needs an eBay Motorsport Resistor Chip and it'll be high 11's...trust me. My mate Kev has seven strapped to his 1.0 Nova Merit. Coupled with a Cherrybomb exhaust (that sounds da nutz) and fluffy dice he can proper take a mobility scooter whilst 3 up.

Rapid!

Yup tbh that 13.4 was an awesome effort..the car will usually run 13.7/13.8 on a 'normal' day...and the car was running very stripped lol But I think with the weight saving plans I've got I'll be aiming to go low 13.3 / 13.2s to beat the mk1 record.

I reckon I can lose at least 50 kgs out of the car as it is now.....more power looks like it's too costly and tbh I would'nt run nitrous ..there is too much money invested in the engine to risk it for me.

Craig
27-10-2006, 09:21
i know the GAZ coilovers arent the best, but it handles really well. when i had a few laps at donington, it was no slower on the corners than the nana.

im confident martin would beat the 13.4 even if its only by 0.1.

defo wouldnt have nos tho! lol

Martin
27-10-2006, 09:45
If I can get the weight down to 840kgs which is quite realistic it will have the same power/weight as a M3 CSL 260 bhp/ton!

Enough already I want the car.....
