View Full Version : Willie Help
What do you people think. Obviously you can't tell much from the description but you get the idea.

Theres a guy interested in my valver but i'm not sure I want to sell it anymore as I love my car. I've had 2 valvers now. The only reason i'd sell is for a willie as its essentially the same car, just a bit faster.
If my valver goes does anybody fancy helping me find one. And if near by have a look for me / with me to save too much travelling. Obviously there would be a lunch and drink on offer for your services. :D
I'm always suspicious of Williams with aftermarket wheels...but it does seem very cheap.
looks very good. seen those wheels before - actually i quite like them.
get it viewed...mileage is very good.
I'll call it tonight and ask the usual questions.
It comes with original wheels as well Martin. Although I agree with Northy they do look nice.

My first choice would be to buy one of someone in this club or cliosport who is a regular poster, so its easy to find a bit out about the car.
That doesnt mean that it isnt worth looking around for one, it is. Just be very very synical when buying one.

You can fix the rust
I disagree, i know people that have brought cars from CS members that have been 'old dogs', one valver had a 1.2 gearbox which died on the way home, the member concerned gave the usual disclaimer. This car does seem pretty cheap tho', but i brought a willy1 with aftermarket wheels and the bearings were shot to Sh*t, i dont know if it was the big wheels that had caused it but it could have been. To be honest I think when you buy a car for 3k or under, your gonna have to throw some money at it, whereas the previous owner is maybe fed up of paying for the car or its not worth his/her while anymore. The best way to buy a car is off a good mate, they really cant knock you! I say check it out, it will probably suffer with, saggy/soft suspension, play in the steering(which is easily remeded) poss dodgey wheel bearings.
Dont get me wrong, for that kinda money its not gonna be a minter
Sorry for the synical view but i have been taken for a ride before and i work damn hard for my cash!

Raj, no offenc3, but i didnt mean blindly buying cars from CS, but buying cars you know the owners. For example i would rather buy a Williams off Mat Brown that some guy i didnt know anything about off autotrader. You still have to be careful, but alot of cars around you know what work has been done on them by usuing the seach feature on cs with the authors name. Try typing in roy archer and read some of his early posts. Quite interesting.
lol.....yeah but would u buy a used car off me??

You told me when you sell it it will be to a scrappy, so it probably gonna be a bit far gone for restoration.
