View Full Version : where do you all mount youre speakers?
im after uprating my standard speakers soon, dont want a silly sub/6x9's ... allready got a pretty good kenwood HU, really after uprating the door speakers, (are these called coaxils (sp)) and getting some components... i take it they are speakers in my dash too, is this where i would mount the components...?
thanks alot, pics of yours qould be great!
just use uprated door speakers
Components are a seperate woofer and tweeter system with a crossover box to seperate the frequencies.
The dash speakers are just tweeters and the door speakers are the woofers. Both of these can be uprated to either standard size or bigger. If you go for a bigger woofer then you can either butcher the metal inside the door to make them fit, or make some MDF spacers up.
Depends how serious you are about your sounds as, from there, you can start amping the components up etc etc

For best sound quality go for a good pair of components in the front doors and a decent sub. I had a pair of comps in the doors and 6x9s in the shelf without a sub and it sounded OK but only at high volume.
