ah the joy of clio owner ship lol :)
mines just started to blow at the exhaust now too :S bloody thing lol
am i the only7 lucky cunt???? fookin ell you guys! more trouble than there worth with you!
something to do with the relay for the fuel pump??
Also check the fuel pump connector under the rear seat. It a high-current connector; the slightest contact problem there will result in fuel pump issues. Use some contact cleaning spray on the terminal contacts.

its a 10 year old car, expect the unexpected bill !
ive spent a lot this past 8 months, the first 2 months were crap. nearly sold it and moved on.
glad i didnt, stick with it, there isnt a car in its age/price bracket that comes close.
If i was to get rid of the mk1 clio i would't go for a similar car in a new clio, i'd go for something rwd, jap and turboed

holly if u wanna sell give me a shout i may be interested, even if it has come from that dodgy matt bloke lol
i dont no what to do, maybe it has done to many miles? or would that affect it?I don't think the clio had a reliable electrical design to start with. So, as it ages, contact oxidation/corrosion becomes a problem. Especially with corrosive winters in UK. Fortunately, they are quite easy/cheap to fix once you know where the problems are (usually earthing points, fuse/relay area or high-current terminal contacts). It happens on most other cars as well in varying degrees.
see what I mean - just been to the doctors to sort out my nose and the van blew up on the way home - smoke pouring out everywhere!!!
Thats an 8,000 mile vauxhall too....
Rock on renault!! 8)
I couldn't justify keeping mine if things went wrong all the time, there has to be a limit (plus I couldn't afford all the bills!) Luckily it's been reliable.....touch wood.....only an electrical fault so far which was easily fixed.
AA man beeneth and goneeth...
Broken anti roll bar and bust the clutch on a 4 month old van lol....
Interesting trip to the doctors that!
