Had my first real blast the other morning against my mate in his 205 mi16 on carbs running 184 bhp, i set off infront 1st gear floored it up the private drag strip, with him following, by the time i'm in 2nd gear i'm expecting this pug to start to gain on me and pass me, (its quick). but he ain't catching :D , got upto around 115/120 and the distance stayed the same, both of us where shocked, we both thought he's was the quicker car,
Went side by side and its all in the gearing, his pug can get 80 mph in 2nd, by this time i'm well into 3rd, basically his car can pull half a car on mine, but i can catch him up, due to the different gearing, set off next to each other in 3rd and the williams will pull away, we both recon over the 1/4 mile mine would have the edge though..........so well pleased with that!
its very hard to judge which is the quicker car? still would'nt like to say :?
Only problem is he''s buying another 205 mi16 with 200 bhp, just got 5.7 0-60 and 14.2 1/4 mile at fcs, with lots of wheelspin and loads of stuff in the car, full leather, full tank of fuel, deck chairs etc, easily a 13 sec car, so looks like i'm gonna get smoked!
