I spyed a guy in an 06 plate picking on one of our fello mk2 brothers (the girly clio's) some lads in what looked like a 1.2 or 1.4 were going for it with the rx8 pushing them  Then in comes me Old skool to the rescue  dropped it down a cog and chased the mofo lol. Came of the dc to a round about, the black clio bombed across with the rx chasing and then me. We entered the next stretch of dc and the black clio moved over  and then i chased and kept right with the rx8 up till 110 then he backed off, im sure these are quicker than that though :? Was like toying with a cooper s, thought they were 182 and type r pace.

anyway, i bet he was gutted

(All races took place on private roads and speeds may be exaggerated)

Could have been the 190bhp model mate. But generally they are shite.

Old man pissed one in his mk4 golf tdi 150

Nice one 8)

Yeah, they are not that fast. Did quite a few of them when I had thought they were fast motors. IMO, they are more like a standard Honda Civic VTEC pace. Quite sad, as the previous RX7 was a proper giant killer.

They are practical though. 4 reasonable seats and the suicide doors is a good idea, IMO.

Purely to verify my post above, I did one again today. :D

It was early morning so I didn't want to wake up the revs beyond 5k. But the restraint growl of the F7R was overwhelmed by the manic wailing of his sewing-machine engine. Fortunately, the irritating noise was reduced proprtionately as I moved forward and away from him. Verification complete.

They just don't make them like they used to (RX7, that is). IMO, the numbers on paper for these cars just don't add up with their real world performance.

Hopefully they will be making them like they used to at some point though - there have been rumours of a turbo wankel engine in a (proper) Mazda coupe for some time now :D

Yeah, now that Mazda have their MPS series going. They most certainly will need to beef up the RX range. Else it would be ridiculous that their 6 MPS and 3 MPS pissing all over the sportier RX8 on a a track.
