different but there is 2 on a valver/willy engine. if thats what u have?

i dont have a clio anymore to take a pic, but if i remember right behind the airbox down on the engine u will see a cream sensor screwed in. and another one near it. i think its not the cream one. its been a while tho so cant guarantee it. but sorted mine out perfectly and it had the same problems.

someone take a pic and post it up

the coolant temp sensor IS the white one

Just another suggestion....LAMBDA SENSOR.

I had the same problems as this a while back, engine almost stalling, bought a new lambda sensor, problem solved.

Get under the car, unscrew the lambda sensor, may need a bit of WD40 on it if its been in there for a long while...once you've got it out give it a bit of a shake and if you hear a rattling noise the coil spring has broke and in a word its "fooked" - needs changing.

yea brun is it the cream one thats next to it? one tells the ecu the coolant temp, one tells the dash.(obviously the dash one wont affect anything)

the LAMBDA SENSOR is the 1 next 2 the CAT?

shall i just disconnect the temp sensor , clean it then connect it again or will cleanin not be any good?

Yes lamba is next to the cat

Doubt cleaning will make nuch differnce, needs replacing

yea needs replacing. someone take a photo of the side of the engine facing downwards behind the airbox. if that makes sense and post it up

Its the Lambda sensor without a doubt.. the coils gone in the lambda... thecoil is there so that when you switch your car on the coil heats the sensor to operating temps... as the coil hasgone.. the lamda is releying on the exhaust gases to heat the sensor up to operating temps.. this takes 10 minutes.... during the ten minutes your idle will be shagged and your car will surge/kangarroo until right.

how much we talkin then 4 a new sensor from reno?....or GSF 1s just as good?

ben_j

i'd advise renault only. they can be right ****ers for things only working with genuine renault parts sometimes so its worth paying out anyway.

think it was £20 ish at most? nothing major? but worth doing. if it still doesnt help then it hasnt really cost too much too,

just ask them for the coolant temp sensor that reads to the ecu - not the dash - they should know

the coolant temp sensor is white and the plug points to the passenger wing, the sensor screws in paralell with the front bumper in direction

the one for the dash has a brown plug on it and is facing upwards IIRC

If youre wanting a new lambda sensor, stay well clear of Renault.
Just get a bosch one, theyre decent enough.

Stay away from the universal ones, ya want one specifically designed for the Clio. Renault charge shit loads for a lambda sensor, and its just a case of shopping around elsewhere.

Andrew Page are dear as they are bosch suppliers, I got one from my local motor factor for about £40ish. Best price I got by a bit.
