View Full Version : 401 bhp Chipwizards
Just got the car back from Wayne at chip wizards - he hit 401 bhp at over 200 mph on the rollers. You cannot imagine what its like to drive - wow.
good going matt
so we back upto full boost now ????
p.s get us a video
he says he could get 425bhp out of it at 1.6bar - but thats the max the turbo can run at. Its now at 1.5 which i think is a safe power to run at without the impeller melting. To be honest its unsafe in a straight line - the power is ridiculous.
I will download the power run graph soon
class...love it when u said unsafe.
was quick before - carnt imagine what its like now.
mate u about on friday ?
How much does it weigh Matt? That'll be a crazy power to weight
Gonna catch jordy up with that fella... you getting nitrous as well?
Nitrous is getting fitted soon - 75bhp kit to start off. Jordies is quick but he runs a smaller turbo, so i may just have an edge. His best so far is 0 to 60 in 4 seconds......126mph @ 11.9. I really need an 11.5 this year !!

Are they pretty speshal rollers to cope with 200mph?

Nah thats about right for most rollers they need to go that high as theres no air resistance on the car.
I reckon you should be around 175+mph flat out in 5th with that sort of power depending on what the gearing is like.

There is a 1/4 mile track where you do the 1/4 and then carry on for a top speed run. I remember Craig on about it. Is it Forest something?

You should of told me you were coming over i'dve said hello.
Waynes rollers can handle 900bhp.
'he's good isnt he lol
best place for a top speedrun is Manston airfield...if you can get on itlol.
Brintingthorpe is where the car manufacturers do their top speed runs....most of them 4 mile straight, longest in teh country or somethign like that

brunty has a 2 mile straight...which, apparently, is the only runway in england long enough for the space shuttle to make a landing if needed

i wouldnt take it to that speed - its just daft

Oh yeh forgot about the 6 speed. Still reckon air resitance would stop you getting near 200mph lol.
You'd need some good aerodynamic work (rear wing, front air dam, flat floor) etc on a Clio to get it to do those sort of speeds.

That's Elvington Jon.
There are several military bases with sufficiently long enough runways too ;)
