Renault Clio Williams 1
Have had this great car for 18 months, but hardly used it! As a result I have decided to offer it for sale.

HPI clear. All MOTs since 1997. Massive folder full of service history dating back to when the car was new, detailing all servicing and repairs carried out over the years. Fully stamped service book, with all supporting invoices, mostly from Renault main dealers.

In 1998 the car underwent extensive work by Mark Fish vehicle engineers (Renault specialist). Basic details of which are as follows:
Cylinder head removed and gas flowed, before being fitted with performance camshafts.
Uprated ECU chip to match Piper reprofiled camshafts
New power steering pump fitted.
New clutch
With additional work including service and brake overhaul, the bill was in excess of £2600!

In addition the car has been fitted with the following parts over the years:
Magnex stainless steel exhaust system
K&N 57i Induction kit
Prima Racing rear spoiler
Adjustable suspension
Shift lamp assembly

Shortly after purchasing the car, I had a full service carried out, using all genuine Renault parts. At this time, it also had standard Williams suspension refitted along with genuine new top mounts, anti roll bar bushes, subframe bushes etc. Since then the car has been serviced again, and had new front disks and pads.

The car is not perfect, as there are areas of the bodywork that could be improved. I had the drivers side rear arch repaired and repainted at vast expense approximately 1 year ago. However, this is already showing signs of corrosion again! The area is limited to the lower front edge of the arch below the rubbing strip, so it should be possible to get this fixed properly. Just don’t take it to the same guy that I did! There are also small areas of surface rust at the bottom of the inside of the tailgate, although this is in no way serious. There are a few minor car park dinks, touched in stone chips, and scratches, although the overall look of the vehicle is very good. Just trying to be honest, so that people don’t waste my time or theirs. This is not a perfect Williams, but is in good order throughout. The interior is exceptional, and mechanically it is excellent.

The wheels were refurbished prior to my purchase, and were powder coated all gold. Not sure if the colour is 100% correct (no doubt someone will comment on it!), but it looks pretty close in the flesh, although my camera is not the greatest. I had the lip painted silver and lacquered. Although this is not the original finish you have to look fairly closely to spot it, and it should be very durable. The wheels are fitted with a matching set of Goodyear Eagle F1 185/55/15 tyres.

The tax has expired, and the MOT runs until October, but I will put a new MOT on the car for the buyer. I can also tax it at additional cost if required.

Price includes private plate that has been on the car for many years. I kept meaning to take it off, but never got round to it!

£2995

Car is located in Southampton, and is available for viewing any time. Any questions please either call on 07946 503450 or pm me, and I will get back to you.
Regards,
Ian

Hi all.
In response to questions so far:
Completely forgot to mention the most important bit! It's done 114,00 miles. Less than 3000 in the last 2 years, hence the sale.
Cambelt, roller, and tensioner were all replaced with genuine Renault parts shortly before I bought the car.
It's number 215.
The plate is JAZ**** It was owned for a few years as a promotional vehicle by a company called 'All that jazz'. Has been on the car since 1998.

If I've missed anything else out, let me know!

Regards,
Ian

Looks and sounds just about right really mate. These cars can sometimes take a little while to sell, though, so you may have to be a little patient :)

Hi all. The car went to an enthusiastic new owner last night. He's a member of the club, so you may well see it at FCS. I cant make it cos I'm off on holiday tonight, but will be there next year. Probably with another Williams.......I'd forgotten how much fun they are......

Cheers for all the interest.
Regards,
Ian
