View Full Version : how hard 2 change front springs?
is it just a matter of undoin a few bolts here n there and then pulling the spring etc out?
just checkd mine and there crackin....seing as i have a pair of -35 16v springs lying around think ill change them over asap
nah mate, harder than that, u have to take out the strut (easy) then get hold of some spring compressors to release the tension on the strut to dismantle it and remove the spring itself. then compress the new springs to fit them! painstakingly slow process imo!
dus abit dodgey....will have 2 do abit of light reading from the haynes me thinks
how much are spring compressors???
any1 got any i can lend who aint 2 far away from me???
I've got some, will swap tyhem over for you for £40 too if you can get down to mine.....got ti down to about an hour now....but my spring compressors wind up slow :(

About £20-£30 to buy.....might need an impact wrench to get the strut tops off though

Would definately recommend an impact wrench - worked a treat when lowering mine. Mine was only £10 as well so they aren't necessarily that expensive.
I paid £120 for mine....
Yes but yours is decent
