As much as I tell meself another valver will do I want a willy so so much I know it ain't gonna happen.
Mint valvers go in the region of £1500-£2500 all depends if your looking in the right place at the right time but like my old valver I know its not going to be 100% straight out of the box and I'll have to do something to it/change a burnt seat/replace a slightly scatched door card/sort out a bubbling arch etc etc...
I'm a prefectionist even a slight swirl mark or tiny scatch would have to get sorted out so I know i'll be paying a visit to a bodyshop for something at some point (nowhere near Wrexham mind! )
so!....
Why can't I buy a basically sound williams that has a few rust/body issues and do the same thing?
Even if I paid over the odds for a mint willy I know I'd end up finding something thats needs touching up!
If I bought one thats sound and has a good interior I could resave while using it to get a full respray?
I know a few people have issues respraying a williams but at the end of the day there'd be alot more left on the road and not simply scrapped if other people did this..
I reckon I'd be paying decent ish valver for money for a poorly willy, then I'd have something to look forward while using it and getting other things put right.
Don't worry I'd do it properly this time if the repsray sounds too good to be true then i'll run a mile!
I could sell my silver willys to fund a standard refurb and the other bits and bobs from the valver towards the repsray and don't forget i've got all that brand new gear to put on - stickers, lights, indicators, fogs, boot strip etc..
