    Ill keep an eye out mat.

    Theres one on ebay at the moment but its £95 (o/s though). Too expensive.

    Ill take this shaft into an engineers this week and see what he says.

    There is a circlip in there that needs spread apart as said and then they should seperate. Sometimes require a few chaps with the hammer as they can become seized :/

    Would be really helpful if someone could show pics if they have them of the circlip?

    Remember this is a 172 driveshaft.

    I will show my arse in HMV shop window on preston highstreet all weekend if someone can prove to me theres a circlip in there.

    I must be going blind if there is.

    For future reference. Although in this pic you can see the clip, I still have not got the joint off even with hammering it, but I will get it eventually.

    I had a similar problem with a mk1 shaft, no clip whatsoever, got busy with a grinder in the end
