Thread: alternator belt

    alternator belt

    All i want to do is change my alternator belt,without unbolting the rest of the car,can it be done simply ? just take it off put the other on ?

    You will need to undo the bottom cam cover. Get to this from the drivers arch. Wheel off, splash shields off. Then you have to undo the alt tensioner to slip the old belt off. Its a ball ache tbh.

    Remove the driers side headlight to gain more access aswell.

    And undo the 10mm bolt holding the breather hose rail and push the rail up so you can get an allan key bit in the tensioner.

    It's not too hard, just a pain. Ensure it's done up tight enough when retensioning.
