How much weaker is sticking a panel in then a standard non sunroof shell?
Is there alot of difference.
Anyone driven a sunroof'd Mark 1 on a track vs a non sunroof. Could you tell the difference.

depends how that panel is fitted, mine is bonded and rivited and is rock solid
is there any worry of it kinking then?
If you fitted strup braces would it make a difference?
the roof can kink if u do it wrong. basically wen i fitted my plate i used alot of rivets, and small clamps so i culd keep it all straight, but if u take ure time it will be okay.Originally Posted by Jamie.
dont think strut braces really make a difference on clios just adds weight.
I think I used more than the average number of rivets but it is now very stiff - more rigid than the rest of the roof I reckon. Here's a pic in case it is any use to you:
Now that looks like a class job :D

also if u wnating alil bit of style, my old 19 i riveted the plate on the inside, so that it was lower...and then i used clear perspex, painted chequered and sat it on top so it ended up teh same height as the roof and nice and smooth, if you follow? or if ur relay not that bothered, go industrial styleee ;)
i was thinking of a sheet of carbon fibre and glueing it on with some strong glue would that work?
Get in on the Full carbon fibre/Fiberglass group buy!

Im not a fan of a plated roof! I like it smooth!
