You can get imports a lot cheaper than £9k for r32 gtr . By nice do you mean modified?
9K-10K your starting to get into reasonable r33 gtr terriotory.
There is no mistake here though... ANY* skyline (especially gtr) is one heck of a piece of kit.

* does not include 4 door and non-turbo/2litre variety
Forgot to say... skyline r33 is still quite a heavy car, but replace exhaust + cat, up the boost a little bit (be careful as some have ceramic turbo's, you need steel turbine for above 1 bar), and it is a lethal weapon.

9-10k will get you a good Evo Vii, better drive, more usable power, easier to service etc.... all depends on personal preference a the end of the day. whichever you go for, get it checked out by a specialist before you agree to buy, will save you potentially £1000's in repair bills.
Definitly, Cosworth power is the way forward. Big fan of the Sierra Cossie in moonstone :P Nice and standard looking saph 4x4 as the 2wd is asking for a dead sentence for sure especially in the wet. A few modifications and map and you will be seeing 300hp+ of reliable power although the Ford gearbox's are not as good as borgwarner, they are still more than up to the job Damn, I love cossie's!Originally Posted by POWARTEK

Very true Raj, but its worth holding out and waiting for a good one. Hopefully sunday will answer my dreams!
I'd go for a R32 GTR. Lighter than the R33 I seem to remember. Hard to find a genuine one though, be very careful, cos when they go wrong it can be expensive.
I think resale value would be better on the Skyline as well, as it is more exclusive and does not suffer from an image problem like the scoob.
Tuning potential on the Skyline is well documented, but is expensive if you do it right. Ceramic turbos go bang with high boost eventually, you have to upgrade to steel ones. There are several other areas which need to be upgraded as well...do yer research.
Lancer EVO's? Great cars. Very quick, usually more torque than sccobs as well.
Just look at the heritage of each type of car. the scooby and Mitsu are rally weapons, whereas the GTR is more of a beastie track car. They serve different purposes and therefore handle and deliver accordingly.
