Yeah, his lines aren't great in places Merv. But then neither were mine. And as everyone else established previously ( ), neither are Kev's. Nor the majority of the people who go on track days.

Rott - the 106 (Rallye) has a 140bhp GTi engine, Koni suspension, larger GTi6 brakes and wheels, with Yoko semi-slicks and running completely stripped.

Ed certainly isn't the only Evo owner who has been slightly humbled by a modified (or standard) Hot Hatch before. I've seen it plenty of times before.

tbh trackdays are all about the driver.....as anyone whose done one will know! Skylines, evos, porsche etc are being driven like they are on a sunday drive lol

Don't see why a heavier car can't get handed it's arse either. In such twisty bits the lighter car is always going to be more nimble no matter how well engineered the bigger one is. That's just the basic laws of physics.

Although on a twisty track like Cadwell the epitomy of 4x4 handling technology isn't going to fair that much better than a very well modded Hot Hatch

The Evo was pretty much standard I think, but it's got a few more mods now. He'd not long had it, so was getting used to it. At least, that was his excuse :P
