not a clio post but help really needed

ok ive been doin a headgasket on a ford scorpio, its a nite mare had to strip the head of cams and follwers, there this little tensioner thing that can only be used once after the timing is set, if u dont get the timing 1st time round and have to do it again, u have to replace the part at £33. ive got the timing wrong and now really pissed as im not keep buying this part, so anyone with any experience on ford scorpio engine let me know please.

wanna check if cams are in correct place, im 80% sure they are

like lunner said, there should be timing marks on the pulleys, timing case and also on the crank pulley if they all line up you can't go wrong.

unless was cylinder 1 in the engine at tdc before u removed the belt, cams etc?
