    Rebuild or Use....

Right I've got an F7R megane lump, that is said to have done only 60k miles!

I took the sump, flywheel and head off it yesturday, however should I just clean and re-paint the bottom end all up and then get the head re-built?

    Or rebuild the whole thing?

To be honest all the bores, looked smooth, went removed the sump everything looked clean and with that kind of milage, everything should be ok shouldn't it?

Any advice form the F7R guru's?

    Cheers

    Danny

good idea, mine current one is on 126k and she still seems to be going strong! touch wood!

If i dont rebuild it, whats the best solvent etc to use on the top of pistons, bores etc, to get all the carbon off and for cleaning the crank area etc?

if you get bits down the rings you will do more harm than good. move pistons to top of bore seal around pistons with grease . clean piston tops then move down bores slowly grease will trap any bits .

would be alright on that milaege, but to be on the safe side i would remove one big-end cap and one main cap, and check the bearing conditions.

    then fit using new cambelt/idler/tensioner.

if you need any re-build work, headwork, or even fitting, PM me :D
