Why does my car sound like this? (Sound Inside)

    Cold morning start....

    http://www.auqb03.dsl.pipex.com/car/mycar.mp3

Now i dont mind noisy tappets they soon clear up. But WTF is up with the squealing cogs/pulley/belts.

Whats it most likely to be? Expensive to fix?

As soon as the cars warm/driven for a few minutes the noises dissapear and the engine doesnt miss a beat.

it definatly sounds like a belt rubbing, may sound stupid but check ur headlight protector hasnt fallen off and is rubbing on the belt on the offside!!

if it goes away after it's warmed up, it could be the alternator belt too tight, the belt expands when it gets warm so the noise would go away. had any work done on your car recently??

sound like cambelt tensioners, check to see if the cambelt has been done, some non enthusiasts take the cheap option and just change the belt, but it is good practice to change the lot, 150 labour and 100 for the kit(from reno) might as well change the alternator/water pump belt while they are at it. btw if you buy things separatly it costs more.

I was hoping the word cambelt wasnt going to be mentioned in this thread :P Im a poor student.

The belt was changed at 70,000 Miles / about 3.5 Years ago.

Car is now on 95k miles.
