no offense but a piece of stainless isn't going to stop **** all heat, you want somethiung like nimbus or cirrus heat shield and mould that to shape

I agree Lunner,whilst you cannot argue about the aesthetics (??)
of stainless.It is s**t at dispersing heat. 
The NIMBUS you speak of is the dogs gonads,see the ads in Demon Tweeks catalogue,pages 277,278,279 www.demon-tweeks.co.uk
Not cheap but it works.
