    all u need is to buy one of those, and get the TV repair man to solder it in.. then just plug and play..

    chips come with full instructions/pix
    keep or sell the standard ic chip

    The F7R engine will rev to 7300 rpm IIRC without any damage to the bottom end. This is the limit on the std bottom end, that is more than enough revs to play with even with some quite severe cams!

    Forged pistons and conrods should give you around 8krpm to play with, then your getting into rally spec engines!

    Handy to have a few extra revs for 1/4miling where changing gear at 7k will mean higher revs in the next gear!

    IIRC to what craig was saying...7300rpm is basically what it is safe to run a std F7R bottom end at!

    Not sure if anyone on here is hardcore enough to run forged pistons and conrods....anyone even with lightened and balanced bottom end?

    I like the 7krpm limit as its easy to find on the valver dials! (Not that i dont hit it every so often! )

    you should try and avoid hitting the limiter....thats when engine damage occurs

    its been changed to a soft limiter so its not harsh at all.
