I have the same problem with it popping out of second gear and when I change down into 2nd from 3rd I have to be creeping along at about 15mph no more than 2k or it just crunches.

Did have an engine mount replaced a while ago and it felt much stronger and stopped popping out of gear but only for about 30 minutes of driving then it was ****ed again.

Anyone have any suggestions other than the gearbox being ruined?!?

Or get an uprated one from HP - they stop movement pretty well, hehe.

Isn't the dog bone just the same as the engine mount?

How would that stop the crunching when changing down from 3rd to 2nd?

Hope someone has a cheaper solution than getting a new box or having it reconditioned!!

theres 2 engine mounts on the clios, one on top offside of cylinder head and other under the battery on nearside holdin gearbox. the dog bone is more of a stabiliser and is at the bottom on the back-middle of the engine next to the downpipe of the exhaust. itsnot load bearing but holds the engine steady on the two load bearing mounts, stops it twisting!
