Yeah, it's the shock given by the gun, you need plenty of pressure and a short fat airline.

Ah, so if i go somewhere that uses an airgun they'll get it off - i assume they could refit it too using the airgun therby saving me buying a new shock?

NO.
Don't refit it using an airgun, that's why you struggled in the first place.

Sorted now - got kwik fit to loosen it off with the airgun, fitted the springs myself and got them to airgun it tight again. Mucho improvement...i can corner and it doesn't look like a 4x4 anymore! Just got the torsion bar to do theis week...

nice one. did my remaining spring today aswell, i've had to WD40 it for the last 2 weeks for it to "uncease".
