Darrens "project refurb" not far off completion!

As some may, may not know I'm having the valver spruced up by Tony (twistedstyling.co.uk)

Just thought I'd show you a few of the before pics I've recieved then i'll take some super quality ones when I get the old girl back..

    For you information:

    Full respray in Naples Pink
Treatment of the B pillar rust that decided to have a field day
De-locked (for security - not looks)
Side repeaters filled and moved to the bumpstrips (think Nick Read - but gonna be better :D )
New boot lid as mines a rust bucket (respray of my already naples willy spoiler)
New fogs (full new headlights and indicators on order just waiting delivery)
New plates, new door pillar stickers (again!)
And finally the masterpiece thats turning into a nightmare: sunroof removed and smoothed over willy style, oh and i'm having the arial removed too....

So bascially nothing horrible or posh, just a tidy up of the legend with a few personal touches (that can bar the roof be put back to standard in a million years when I've still got her)

    Pics....

    Wank

I've got a picture somewhere... it just doesn't look right without it on some colours like naples..

Although it does work well on black and blues

Originally I was only going to get a bumper respray as it was peeling its paint but then its started going wrong! trolley dents, rust, my mate decided to launch himself over the bonnet one pissed up night

    Sunroof? what sunroof?! lol

I'd like to point out that if some people get concerned about the strength of the roof now it doesn't have a sunroof i'm looking into a half cage just up and over the b pillars (can't see why it should though, after all with the plate and the supports I'd have thought it would be as strong if not sronger than the willy roof).

Thats some good welding he looks to have done.

The metal is so thin and flimsy it would have distorted like a bananna straight away.

IMO i wouldnt bother with a cage. (adds to much to insurance) the roof will be as strong as a williams one or two now pal.....and once the headlining is fitted it will be solid as it should be.

Keep the pictures coming, and focus on the sunroof :D

(last picture I have for now chaps :D )

I think it'll be nice and strong with the strips across the gap

put this way i'll be proud to come down to meets now - its taken me 2 years to get to this point!

LOL, if it was me i would spot weld the strips to the sunroof blanking panel mate.

Possibly 6 spot welds on each strip.

P.S drill the strips with a 5 - 8mm bit and fill with weld until flush.

Do it right and it will be miles stronger than a williams one. :D
