I got my valver when i was 16. Now coming up to my 18th and i'm still here.
Do it you'll love it!!! :P
Personally i think you should get a 1.4 or something as you wont apriciate how fast the 16v is in comparison to other cars. Plus 1.4's are good to learn in and crash :P
At the end of the day your not meant to crash!!
If you crash in any car it could be fatal. My second car was a Golf Gti Mk2 and i thought that was a rocket ship, but give it a few months and you soon learn its power.
Most people probably have a few prangs in their early driving career, i know i did, but i put it down to honing my skills!! :P
Im sure if you have your heart set on getting one, you'll buy one regardless of what people on here "advise" you to do.
Best of luck
:D
I got my clio 16v when I was 16 and I am 18 now.
Insurance is a bit steep but I think it worth it.
most people only want the 16v for the looks...dont even know aboot the speed
if u only want the looks get a RT and buy the 16v bits n bobs looks good and wont kill u with the speed
my first was a 1.4rt which i hit a tree in at 50mph!
then got a 1.2
then a valver and it was fantastic, but cost alot in repairs
got another and was newer and betta
had to get a 1.4 at the mo whilei sort out my savins, people i no keep tellin me get a new car but i will def be gettin another valver soon,
jus be mature about driving it, these peeps no wot there sayin
lewis
i bounced around in a shoddy 1.4 for three years nearly before i got my valver in august n loved every second of motoring in the little clios!
i loved that 1.4 and owning n driving it meant i got used to clios n then fully and i mean FULLY appreciated the valver when i bought it!!
oh n i was a poor student n cudnt afford insurance so 1.4 was only option!!!
What do you mean by variable switch???Originally Posted by clowo16v
I too am 18 at the end of this month and have bought myself a valver to cherish, bloody expsensive already though. New tyres, suspension bearings brakes e.t.c
£260 on replacing and painting the rotten side sills. New windscreen needed too.
Im wondering what insruance company you guys are using (18 + Valver).
Quotes are coming back at me in the £2200 region with TPO cover :P Hope its worth it, ill soon find out.
